What is Upvote and downvote on Reddit?
An upvote is a vote that says a post or comment is worth seeing. A downvote says the opposite.
Every post and comment on Reddit can be voted up or down by any logged-in user. Votes decide what moves to the top of a page and what sinks to the bottom.
Reddit adds a little random noise to the numbers you see. This is called vote fuzzing, and it is there to make cheating harder. So the exact score you see is not always the exact score behind the scenes.
If you are promoting something
Never ask friends or staff to vote for you. Reddit treats it as vote manipulation, and it is one of the quickest ways to lose an account.
