What is Upvote ratio on Reddit?
The upvote ratio is the share of votes on a post that were upvotes, shown as a percentage.
If a post has a 90 percent ratio, nine out of ten votes were upvotes. A low ratio means people are split or annoyed, even if the post still has a decent score.
A post with a low ratio is often a sign that people think it is promotion, or that it broke an unwritten rule of the community.
If you are promoting something
Watch the ratio on your own posts. A drop is useful feedback. Read the top comments, because they usually tell you exactly what bothered people.
