What is Self-promotion rule on Reddit?
A self-promotion rule limits how often, or whether, you can mention your own product, site or business in a community.
Many communities have one. Some ban promotion completely. Some allow it only in a weekly thread. Some allow it if it is a small part of what you share.
You may also see a rule of thumb that about nine in ten of your contributions should not be about yourself. Reddit's own guidance for users, called reddiquette, leans the same way.
If you are promoting something
If the rule says no, then it means no. Answer questions and be useful, and let people find you through your profile if the rules allow it.
